WEEK 15

Weigh in yesterday. Hope everyone made the cut. For those who did not you will still be with us in spirit. What is important is that you, like us, have made a choice for change and you will accomplish it. Keep moving forward to attain your personal goal. I appreciated reading a blog from a fellow contestant that said it once took her 28 months to lose 50 pounds. It was a reminder to me that weight loss does take time. If we stay the course and be patient it will happen whether we are in a contest or not.

WEEK 14 x2

WEEK 14 x2

This is my second post for the week because I just had to share this story with you all. Yesterday for Easter we went to Quail Hollow for the Easter Brunch Buffet. I went into a feeding frenzy. I ate everything that wasn’t bolted down. I was knocking kids down to get to the last piece of cheesecake. Afterwards while others were outside playing in the sunshine, doing yard work and listening to the Indians game on the radio I was in bed sleeping it off. I felt like crap. This was a huge wake up call for me. After eating small amounts of healthy food for so long now I got use to feeling good. It only took one day at the buffet to remind me of how bad I feel after eating massive amounts of carbs, sugar or salt. Let this week be filled with healthy foods and lots of water for all of us. Sat weigh in is upon us. Good luck to everyone to meet the 5% requirement.

WEEK 14

WEEK 14

This has been an exciting week in our household. We got a kitten. She is so adorable and full of energy. She will undoubtedly keep me on my toes. She loves to exercise with me and I’m sure she will remind me everyday. Which I will need  more than ever because I too have reached a plateau as others have posted. So frustrating to see the numbers on the scale unchanged or going up 1 or 2 pounds. What is that??? I say to myself. How can this be when I am doing everything I am suppose to do. As Cori said this can happen. Must stay the course and be patient. Hope all had a wonderful Easter and enjoyed time with family. See you at the weigh in this Sat.

WEEK 13

Family dinner yesterday. Way too much ham and mashed potatoes were partaken in. This seems to be a usual occurrence for me on Sundays. I pig out. I guess I look at it as rewarding myself for sticking to my program all week. I love my mashed potatoes and am unwilling to stop after a ½ cup portion of them. It’s like potato chips for some people…ya just can’t eat one. I have found that allowing myself one pig out day a week makes healthy eating throughout the week something I can live with.

WEEK 12

How nice to awake to Sunshine beaming through the window. Finally a glimpse of Spring. A sign of change. A reminder to us that just as caterpillars turn into butterflies….so will we. We have worked so hard to get to where we are today. It is frustrating not to see the numbers on the scale going down as fast as they did in the beginning. We must be proud of ourselves for what we have accomplished so far and continue to be diligent with our programs. We may even want to kick it up a notch. Nature is begging us to get out there and walk. Let’s strap on those pedometers and let each step remind us of how close we are getting to becoming that butterfly.
